FUNDRAISING UPDATE:  We are about a week away from Christmas and things are moving along cautiously well with our fundraising campaign. We are at 64% of the overall goal with $595,000 raised of the $960,000 we need by the end of January.  We are at 75% of the Red Kettle goal with $176,000 raised out of the $230,000 goal.  With Christmas eve the last day for bell ringing we could use more volunteers to help us fill the buckets. Thank you to all who have helped our campaign by mailing in a check or placing a donation in our red kettles.

Our special envelope insert will be in the newspaper this Sunday, December 21.  Be sure to find it in the Lansing State Journal and mail it in with your end-of-the-year donation.  If you already sent it in, be sure to pass it on to a friend to encourage them to participate in our fundraising campaign.. Remember, your donation helps out needy families in our wonderful community.

A big THANK YOU goes out to

the sponsors and locations that

participated in our

Big Red Kettle promotion.

Look for the Big Red Kettle at a local Walmart or Sam's Club, and when you see it be sure to place a donation in the bucket.  Your dollars will double!!  A local business sponsor will match what is placed in the kettle at that location for that day.

The Salvation Army - Capital Area partnered with the 2014 Mateen Cleaves 1 Goal, 1 Passion: Hope for the Holidays initiative, nominating fifteen families in need to receive additional assistance for Christmas this year. The event was held last night at Elmhurst Elementary School in Lansing and was a huge success for all who were present! We are grateful for the opportunity to participate and hope to do so again in the future!

November 21, 2014:  SILVER BELLS IN THE CITY - The Salvation Army rang bells at the annual Silver Bells celebration in downtown Lansing. We were at the two corners of Michigan/Allegan and Michigan/Washington. Thanks to all who came and checked us out! Hopefully you saw our lighted up canteen in the parade.
